My Education and Experience

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C), an AASECT certified sex therapist (CST), and a Relational Life Therapy (RLT) Certified Couples Therapist. I have been practicing therapy for over 10 years. Prior to my career as a therapist, I was a certified public accounting (CPA) for 6 years.

I am dedicated to continued growth and learning to ensure I can offer you the best and most current treatment methods, tailored to your particular needs. I have two masters degrees - Masters of Social Work and a Masters of Education in Human Sexuality, completed in 2015. I obtained these degrees at Widener University's nationally respected dual degree program for social work and sex therapy. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an evidence-based trauma treatment method, along with trauma-informed care approaches.

I have a wide range of experience working with individuals and couples on a myriad of treatment issues, including sexuality, communication, conflict, life transitions, lack of emotional or physical intimacy, depression, anxiety, trauma, and more. I am kink, poly, and LGBTQ friendly.

On a personal level, I enjoy investing in local communities, exploring nature, and connecting regularly with friends and family. Dancing, hosting, and caring for pets are some of my hobbies.

My Story

I have a deep spiritual belief that each person has a true self made of gold, that is often hidden underneath layers of wounding, protection, and false selves. It is my privilege to help clients uncover that gold. Part of this work is helping people overcome barriers to intimacy and learn to live fully alive.

The very humanness of each of us is something I hold fondly. I've never met a perfect person, and I'm far from it. In contrast, I relish the messiness of being fully alive, which includes the full range of human emotion. It's impossible to have transcendent joy without deep sorrow, ecstatic pleasure without pain, happiness without sadness, love without loss, kindness without anger.

I believe in the skills and methods taught in therapy because I rely on them in my daily life. Most of us were not taught the skills needed to have a healthy relationship. We may know what doesn't work, but we don't know what does work, or what to do differently. If we've never been taught relationships skills like how to repair effectively, relationship empowerment, and healthy boundaries, how could one possibly expect that we would know?

I am a fellow traveler alongside you. I am humbled, grateful, and in awe of the miracles I witness every day in the lives of clients and couples. Therapy takes tremendous courage. I hold it as sacred space, honoring each and every session as an act of bravery and commitment to your authentic self.
