Insurance

Individual Therapy

Alive Intimacy is an Out Of Network (OON) provider for all insurance networks. Many insurance companies offer partial reimbursement for OON providers. If you have OON coverage with your insurance plan, I will send you a superbill monthly that can be submitted to receive partial reimbursement from your insurance company.

This informational blog post provides helpful guidance about the OON reimbursement process. There are companies that offer assistance with submitting and receiving reimbursement, such as Reimbursify.

When you call your insurance company, you should ask:

  • What are my Out Of Network, mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is preauthorization (e.g. pre-approval, pre-certification) required from my insurance company or primary care physician?
  • Am I able to use a health savings, flex spending, or other similar types of accounts to cover the cost of treatment?

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is not typically covered under insurance plans, In Network or Out of Network. My rates for couples therapy are listed below.

Rates

  • Couples Therapy – $200 per 60 minute session.

  • Individual Therapy – $185 per 50 minute session.

Rates are subject to change with a 60 day notification.

Longer Sessions – In certain cases, longer sessions may be recommended or requested. For instance, when delving into deep trauma exploration or when a couple requires additional time to thoroughly address a particularly sensitive issue. In such situations, pricing for extended sessions will be discussed and negotiated at that time.

Investing in Therapy

✓ Consider therapy as a significant investment into yourself and/or your relationship. In therapy, you will gain key insights and clarity into your patterns. You will heal underlying wounds and learn practical skills that you can use daily to maintain a healthy relationship. The progress you make in therapy will serve as a foundation as you move forward. If you need to come back to therapy in the future, you will be building on top of this foundation, rather than starting from scratch.

✓ The length of therapy depends on the complexity of the situation, as well as the work you’ve already done to explore and address the issues. Most clients and couples have measurable progress within 6 months, with some feeling complete after 6 months. Other clients benefit from 1-2 years of consistent therapy. My approach is designed to help you achieve results as efficiently as possible, while not glossing over deeper issues or using a “bandaid” approach.

Financial Savings

Pre-tax Savings

Many employers offer an employee benefit of a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), which offers significant pre-tax savings on healthcare including therapy. Using this option can significantly reduce the financial impact of therapy costs.
